EFFECTS effects
Has anyone tried the TC Electronics G Force. If you guys dont mind talk some about different effects Pros and Cons. Even the higher end units. Anyone using an Eventide Harmonizer? I know they are costly. What would you say are the 5 best processors for steel? Please jump in and say something.
Thanks, Gary
[This message was edited by Gary Steele on 23 February 2003 at 10:14 PM.]

I just bought a G-Major after I heard a friend of mine use one on his steel. It is awesome. I have 2-profex 11's, a tubefex, all loaded with Newman presets. They work great, except one of the p11's took a little dump.
The G-Major is much, much easier to use, and it is so Quiet. The effects are a higher quality sound also. Sounds great on my Legrande 111 or my tele.

The TC electronics G Force and G Major are 'basically' the same unit, just one (forget which one) costs a bit more, is built in sweden I think, while the lower cost one is made somewhere in the orient. There are a few minor programming differences (like flash upgrades etc), but for the price, I've heard a lot of good about both, and a lot of guys say the lower priced one is the better deal

Hi Gary,
I'm currently using a G Force and it works great for steel. It's got a 5 band eq, hi and low shelving with 3 bands of parametric eq. Great chorus, delay, reverb's pretty good, good compressor and useable distortion, although mine is not the current operating system, the new os is supposed to have better distortion. It's important to hook up the G force and G major correctly in that they work best when you hook up a guitar or steel with an unbalanced to balanced adaptor cable and vice versa for the output to an amplifier.
