Webb 6-14E Controls

Post by Rick Collins »

In my car I have a Bose music system matched acoustically to the auto's interior. I keep the "slide" bass and trebel controls wide open as the owner's manual suggests. Occasionally, I have noticed the sound change, especially the trebel fading. When I slide the tone controls back and forth the sound cleans up.

Question:
Does this happen on an amplifier, when the controls are not moved for an extended period of time? Should one move the rotary pots on the amp through their full range and return them to the desired settings if they stay in the same position almost all of the time?

Thanks in advance, Rick

Rick, I wouldn't worry about the controls if they aren't sounding dirty, but if you want to move them throughout their range and then return them to your settings it won't hurt either.
