Boss VF-1

Post by Randy Pettit »

This little guy seems too good to be true. Any users out there? It looks like it has some effects (auto-wah, distortion, overdrive) that the Lexicon MPX-1 and MPX-100 lack. Anyone use the VF-1 with a Nashville 1000?

Many of us still use the Boss SE70, one of the best units going. I understand the VF-1 is a revised version of that older unit at 1/2 the cost.

I use a Boss GX-700 which, as I understand, is also a predecessor to the VF-1. When I investigated the VF-1 I liked all the features, except that it doesn't have an external loop. I use the loop on my GX-700 for my volume pedal so I can put some effects before the pedal and some after.

I still use the older SE50. It is the simplest to use, and one of the best sounding multieffects unit I have ever used. I bought an SE70 once and then sold it, I was too used to the SE50.

I have been using the VF-1 for about 1 year. It has all the settings + that the profex has and is a 1/2 rack size which allows clamping it to you steel. I am still working on setting up the patches but its a great unit with a built in tuner.

Thanks for the responses. I understand the Lexicon units are outstanding, but they seem rather pricey, or lack some of the effects I'd like to have. The VF-1 seems like a good all-in-one unit.
