Sabine Feedback Eliminator

Post by Howard Parker »

It was a toss up to post this in "No Peddlers" or here, so...

Playing dobro at volumes that most steel players achieve is usually a big problem, especially when using piezo pickups like the McIntyre. I had an invite to gig on dobro and table steel and knowing that feedback was going to be a huge issue I picked up one of the Sabine Solo 820 (single channel) eliminators.

The box worked very well and setup couldn't have been easier:

Increase channel gain until system just begins to feed back. Box detects in about 1/2 second and feedback is eliminated. Keep cranking gain until you run through the maximum eight filters.

Pratically speaking, I was able to play dobro at the same volume as the Fender Custom without any apparent sacrifice to volume or tone. I was running both instruments (dobro==>preamp) thru an A/B switch to a Fender Blues Deville.

btw..Price was $275

More at the box at Sabines website http://www.sabine.com
