Evans SE-150

Post by David Rothon »

Anyone have any thoughts on this amp's performance with psg? I'm thinking of having one imported here – expensive as this'll be – because it seems to be the only compact option around. Unless you know any different…

I have played through the SE-150 several times. It is a fine steel amplifer. It has the signature Evans tone--to my ears that means a crisp tight bottom, great separation between strings when playing big chords...and more that is hard to describe I realize now after trying to do so. There is a wide range of tonal adjustment, and loads of highs. It is way loud if you want it to be. For almost any situation it would be more than powerful enough, and as you know, it is light. I think I'll go out and buy one now.

But I'm happy with my Standel.
