Session 500 volume problem solved (I think)

Post by tim duvall »

Well,
I took Mike Brown's suggestion and hooked the guitar into the INPUT 1 jack and VOILA!!!
Wall rattling volume. I then hooked the profex and volume pedal up and the volume stayed. I realized that I had the profex plugged into the PEDAL FROM jack instead of the INPUT.My questions now. Why would this make such a difference? Is there still a problem or shouldn't I have hooked it into the PEDAL FROM jack?
Thanks Mike for the info. It was a pleasure getting to meet you at Dallas. Still looking into those new 1000 amps. This session weighs a ton!!

Hello Again Tim,
It was nice speaking with you in Dallas. I'm glad that you got your situation resolved.

The FROM jack in the pedal patch section is located in the circuit "after" the first gain stage, therefore the signal from the output that you are inserting at the FROM jack is apparently not strong enough to drive the rest of the amplifier circuit. At any rate, your guitar should be plugged into the #1 or #2 input jack at the left side of the amp chassis. When plugging into the #1 or #2 instrument input jacks, the signal is fed through the first gain stage which boosts the signal for processing through the rest of the amplifier.

Hope that this helps.
