Ancient Goodrich Pedal

Post by Lee Baucum »

I still have my old Goodrich Steelman (Model 400) Dual Photocell volume pedal that I bought back in the early 1970's. I always carry it as an emergency backup pedal for my newer Model 120. It's been a couple of years since I tested this old pedal, so I thought I'd better dust it off and see if it still worked.

Whoosh! What a great sound. I bought a Hilton Digital Sustain box a couple of years ago and have never used it in conjunction with the old Model 400. They work great together. My Mullen sounds so much better, and a bit louder, too, with the old Model 400. I think the Model 120 is going in the gig bag and can now be the emergency backup pedal.

By the way, I bought extra light bulbs for this pedal about 10 years ago and have never had to use them. The original bulbs still work just fine, after almost 30 years!

Does anyone else still have one of these old dinosaurs?

Lee-
I don't have one that old, but I had A Goodrich Photo Beam pedal, and I also found it to have a stronger, clearer tone, than my Goodrich Lowboy 120. But I just sold it..al
