“Unforgettable”, Nat Cole classic

Post by Mike Neer »

I just recorded this live take of the classic song Unforgettable. I never really appreciated the tune in all the years I had to sing it, but steel guitar has a funny way of making me rethink music. It was fun setting the melody to a chordal melody and I get to pull out some of my favorite moves.

For anyone interested, C6 tuning with 1st string tuned to D—I only used it for the modulation back to the home key. Playing through a Tonex (Joe Rogers Standel capture) through a QSC powered speaker and mic’s with an AKG 414.

Fine playing there Mike. Not easy getting those reverse slants accurate and maintaining vibrato. Great post. :)
