A "One Night Only" Lap Steel Show 1/13/24

Post by Terry VunCannon »

Wish me luck, I am putting on a "One Night Only" show of my original lap steel songs here in NC in January. First time I have ever tried to pull something like this off. I have been writing & recording singles since the shutdown in 2020, & the chance to do this came up. Really looking forward to doing an all lap steel show with a full band of my original music.

Oh ya, sounds like a blast, Terry. I’ve really enjoyed the tunes you’ve posted here, and “swamp roots” is a good handle for your stuff. I wish I could come but, let’s see . . . Vancouver Island - North Carolina . . . probably not. Oh well.

Thanks for the support guys. I know I don't get a lot of traction on this site, probably because I play a different style of R&B lap steel, and not country or hawaiian. It means a lot to me for the comments.

Good luck Terry!

Love your lap steel originals and the covers you play.

Sounds like a real fun night. Hope you can post some video here from the show!

Hi Terry,
I'm one of the many forum members that enjoy your music and would love to be at your gig tomorrow. The thing is I live about 1400 miles away. It looks like you have a full band playing with you. Cool. Have fun!

Really enjoyed the show. Great job T.V. You have raised the level of steel guitar awareness and appreciation considerably... and played some really cool stuff!

Thanks Bob Sykes, thanks for coming up and playing also. I had a blast. And seeing the balcony & lower level filled with people for an original music show made my night.
