Help with play along tracks

Post by Gary S. Lynch »

Hello,
I am getting back into playing seriously again after a few years break.
I have been enjoying playing along with some CD tracks.

I was wondering is there some way to put the various tracks I have on a software program and put them as an mp3 on my IPad so I don't have to switch CDs.
Also, any software for an IPad so I can have some drum machine accompaniment.

Hope these ideas make sense.
Thanks for any assistance.

Do a search for Testify Software.
That is a program where you can put songs from a CD on a laptop, sequence them to suit yourself and play it back. A lot of the Gospel groups are using this program.

Thanks Erv,
I will do that.
It also occurred to me that I should be able to get a tech type to save this tracks to an MP
File on a computer and then send them to my IPad for loading..with the right software.

Gary, I load my tracks on Itunes, have my guitar where I can grab any track, very handy.

Gary, just rip the cd (copies the cd contents to your hard drive) and place them in a folder on your computer, then just transfer them to your player of choice.

You will then have all your songs from the cd's on your hard drive and you can pick and choose which one's you want to load on the ipad, etc.

I agree with Keith, no need for additional software. Just rip them to the hard drive and put them in a folder of your choice. I have taken literally hundreds of CD's and done that and stored them on an external 1TB drive.

Hi Gary,
Look at iReal Pro App for your iPad. It's cheap as chips and there are lots of downloadable built in files. It has the advantages of being able to change tempo's, change key's, change volume levels or cut out backing instruments.
If you are adventurous you can write your own files with many different styles to choose from.
I tried BIAB on a netbook computer, but found this App much more useful.
Good luck,
Keith.
