Latency on Cakewalk

Post by Darrel Roberts »

O.K, I'm definitely digitally challenged but I can usually work my way through it. I'm stumped. I've got Cakewalks' Music Creator LE 5 and I can't adjust the latency. I get to where there is a slider to make adjustments but it wont allow me to make changes. Went through all the help stuff and followed every instruction to the letter. Anybody got any ideas?

I use Cakewalk Sonar X2. I don't anything about your software but there is a Cakewalk forum where you can get help.

Latency is set in your A/D converter, not in an application program like Cakewalk or Sonar (altho it is possible that Sonar may provide link to your interface card's controls.) So look for the control panel or similar for your interface.

Thanks for the reply guys.
Jack,
I went to that site and it was recommended to use ASIO so I'm now using that and found how to control latency. Problem now is I can't get playback. Guess I'll bang around and figure it out sooner or later. Thanks for the reply .

They helped you with the latency, they should be able to help you with playback.

I know nothing about that program, or what type of recording interface you are using so I can't help other than to recommend going back to the Sonar forum.
