Powerbook G4 & Nashville 112 Question

I am trying to record to garageband just for practice and to hear myself. Can I run the XLR line out from my nashville 112 to the line in on my powerbook with a cable to record?? When I run my steel straight in it does not have enough volume. Just thought the line out from the amp would give a louder signal.
