Gearslutz forum hacked/hijacked

Post by Jack Stoner »

I thought I'd post this in the recording section since the gearslutz forum is mostly for recording.

I tried to access it this morning (tried two different browsers) and I get a porno site that says it's "www.gearslutz.com".

I'm betting they forgot to renew their DNS.

There was a mess up with DNS to be sure, according to site owner Jules.

That aside, I haven't been there in years, and my IQ thanks me for it

I checked this morning and it's OK now. It had to propagate to all DNS servers. For some it was OK late yesterday.

I don't see anymore "misinformation" on the gearslutz than any other forum, including this one.
