Recording Audio from DVD as MP3

Post by Alan Brookes »

Anyone know a good way of recording the audio from a DVD as an mp3 file ?

I realize you can link the audio output of a DVD player to the input of your computer, and record in real time, but since the computer already has a DVD drive it would seem that there must be a way of doing the recording within the computer. I can find no software that can do that.

try getting FREECORDER, a free program off the net.

Play the CD/DVD on your PC.

Freecorder will record any audio thats playing on your PC, you can set it up to record in several MP3 formats and point the files to any folder of choice, you can also re-name the files which ID TAGS the MP3's as well.

The excellent feature of this little program is it will record the entire CD and break it apart into separate tracks, but you will have to name them at the end.

Lately, this program has replaced my outboard MP3 recorders...

Hi Alan, Give this program a try, it's free and I've been using it
for a very long. It's good to make mp3 files from youtube videos too.

"Audacity", it's a free download and can do what you want if you play the dvd on your computer.
