Addictive Drums with Pro Tools 8.04?

Post by Billy Woo »

I just bought Addictive drums and I'm having trouble just recording a basic loop beat to a track, they (customer support) said not to record to audio track but to record to the insert which is where Addictive drums is..this all seems a little complicated to me, does anyone else use this format for their drums for Pro tools?

Thank you,

I am not familiar with Addictive Drums but I am familiar with PT 8. Generally the most effective way to use loop or drum patterns is to use the PT Workspace window...When using Easy Drummer , which is in one of the effects bins, I drag the pattern into an open PT project track, sometimes I drag in several patterns and fills, then use yet another PT track or tracks to build the drum track.. sometimes using multiple tracks to build "ONE" drum track is the easiest way. PC DAW's love this approach.

The thing about using PT Workspace is that it is elastic and adjusts timing on the fly, you can audition each component before it is added to the track.

There are many ways to do this but you should be doing it across a few tracks if you are not already.

Tony is right...insert addictive drums into a channel so addictive drums can play it back is what I would asume they are saying..The drag and drop you loops however you want them...
