This Saturday I'll be playing with "The Screaming Clams." The band plays about 90% rock with an occasional country song. They do things like Born to be Wild and Gloria, as well as some Beatle tunes. I play with distortion about 50% of the time. The band has an unusual gimmick- Everybody but the lead guitarist and me is a classical musician and member of the San Fernando Symphony. The conductor plays rhythm guitar. They do this for fun.
The band LOVES the steel. They think it's a great alternative to the usual keyboards.
We will be at Sneaky Pete's (no relation to Mr. Kleinow) on Van Owen and Tampa Blvds on the west San Fernando Valley. I hope some of you L.A. Players come on out and say hello.
