Also notice Tom's use of a Buddy Emmons lick? Steve Hinson also worked his magic with that lick in "Your Man" by Josh Turner. Very cool.

Great clip Wade, man If I could play the steel only 1/2 that good, I would be a happy camper. I wonder if Don Rich ever made an album? Anyone know?

Wade, thanks for posting this. It's wonderful! I always loved Don's singing and guitar playing - and, of course, Tom's steel playing. This stuff is what I was raised on when I first started playing steel.

The Don Rich Anthology CD on Sundazed (pictured above)is a "recent" collection of sides both instrumental and vocal culled from Buckaroos Band albums and some Buck &Buckaroos recordings. It features Don's FIddle, Guitar and Singing/songwriting as well as Tom Brumley on many cuts. It is great from start to finish.

The man was awesome.

I'm kinda surprised Buck let him sing solo...IMO he's better than Buck!

There's and old saying about Ginger Rogers that she did everything Fred Astaire did but backwards and in High Heels... that's kinda how I think of Don (but in a good way!)

He sang everything Buck did, but a third or more higher while playing fills and lead...
