Last night I tried out Lloyd's settings, and WOW what a difference!! I was using 250, with 1 repeat, plus some 'verb to wet it down. After I made the change, the sound man got excited. I like it.

Stevan...the RV-3 is a great little stomp box! Unfortunately, it doesn't have the tap tempo, but you do get a decent sounding simultaneous reverb & delay. I got mine basically to take on overseas gigs so I could use a battery instead of frying my rack stuff with different current. The problem with all time effect stomp boxes is that they EAT batteries! So you need to use an AC adaptor for regular use.
[This message was edited by Rick Schmidt on 08 September 2001 at 01:51 PM.]

Make sure you use the Boss PSA-120 power adapter or equivalent in power output, especially when your daisy chaining several effects together using the same power supply.

Also, The RV-3 is a cool signal splitter when using 2 combo amps.

I have a DD-3,how does it compare to the RV-3
other than the reverb? What settings would suggest on the DD-3 to get the delay that
that Lloyd is using,if thats possible.

Thanks in advance

I recently played through a friends RV-3, he wanted me to try it. I use a DD-5 and I hooked up the RV-3 in place of the DD-5 (I was running it in the effects loop on my Nashville 400). I lost most of the body and had mostly highs (bright highs). I didn't like it at all. Maybe I could have changed the EQ on my Nashville 400 to compensate but I shouldn't have to. The DD-3 comes fairly close to the DD-5 in sound.

I'm thinking the next question would be how Lloyd is using the RV-3. Is he hooked up right out of the guitar/foot volume control or is he in the effects loop ? It might have a bearing on the responce curve. I learned the hard way, a long time ago about getting the guitar and amp cords in the wrong jacks on the foot volume. I EQd that amp all night to no avail. I just knew I had some serious trouble. Next gig I got it right and the problem I was dreading went away. Line level outputs could do something similar to that if the box can't deal with them.

At the convention, Lloyd had the RV-3 right after the volume pedal, before the amp's input. It was not in the effects loop of the Nashville 1000.
