Boss VF-1
Has anyone tried the Boss VF-1 Multi Effects processor? I looked on Harmony Central's web site and it had very good reviews. I have a Profex II and a Lexicon MPX 100. But the half rack size looks good. Does it allow using multi effects together and how many, and can they be tweaked like the Profex II. Thanks for any info.

This is a great little unit. Great reverbs, great time based effects (echo, chorus, flange), very good amp models (if you are into that sort of thing). Very quiet, great quality. IMHO in a different quality level from the Profex.
The only places I ding it are on the lack of an efx loop and the lack of a tap delay button.

Dan does that mean above or below the profex. Can you select the order of effects and chain them together. I don't think my Profex has a tap time(if it does I have not discovered it), but the lexicon MPX 100 does.
Can the Boss be used like a Profex, pluging in the steel and going direst to the power amp in on a Nashville 400 using the eq for tone settings in the Boss. This unit looks good and could be mounted with some snap on brackets on the legs of the steel so you could have it at your finger tips, however it has to work like a profex to be of use.

The VF1 is very similar to the older Boss SE70 which is a great great unit. I plug right into the unit and out to the pedal. I mount it on a small 45 deg mic stand adapter and mount that to another adapter to the leg of the steel, right at right hand finger tip level. I will have to post a picture sometime.

ps: I would not compare the reverbs to a Lexicon.

IMHO this is way above the profex. You definitely can use this in the same way as the profex, strait to a power amp.

Well I just ordered a VF-1 from Musicians friend today. I let you guys know my experience with it. I know how to program the Profex II and I hope this works close to it. I went to the http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/en/rack_and_desktop_devices_1.html
They have a very good product description of this unit with pictures and specs. including some of the displays for editing the effects and the chromatic tuner
