Desktop programs won't minimize

If I have Yahoo, or other programs, Band In A Box & I click on minimize the programs won't minimize to the bottom task bar.. looks like something going in there but it is still on the desktop.. If I click on CAD, it comes up, I end task, & it doesn't show up in CAD, but then it stays on the desktop also.. Can't X anything off the desktop, x& I have to restart the computer..
I ran MBAM, Spybot, & CCleaner...

What Operating System do you have? Windows XP? Vista? Windows 7? it can make a difference.

If you have XP, go to this link and line 240 on the left side is a fix for this.

Jack I have XP SP3.... I notice this more wit IE 8..
I do use Google Chrome also, but prefer IE, it has a nicer Refresh, plus opening attachments & Saving them.

This has nothing to do with the browser you are using.

Well looks like I pulled the cork & celebrated a bit too soon. It worked longer than before, but started doing the same thing again.. Couldn't minimize, & couldn't X out.. Before long I had a bunch of programs on my desktop, Yahoo mail, PG music, BIAB, Steel Guitar Forum & windows Task Manager.. Nothing worked & had to turn the computer Off & On again...
I tried to do a System Restore back a week or so. But no dates worked & can't do a Restore..
