Low budget tape to PC
Can I use the output of my cassett deck (headset jack) directly into the microphone jack of my PC (jack to wire to jack) without blowing up anything? Would it have reasonable sound quality? This is only for some personal use.

Use the line in, level is to high for the mike input. I use Sonic Foundry 6 software, has excellent editing and effects. If you want multi-track Magix 6 deluxe is nice to work with.

For best results, record the stero signal - not mono.
