Does the sr-18 have a good preprogrammed 4/4 shuffle with rimshot?
And, a good 3/4?
How is the sound quality of the bass programs?
I've owned the sr-16 for several years and love the drum sounds, but have to edit the kits and patterns to establish a good country sound.
alesis sr-18?

I've got an SR-16 and an SR-18. The SR-18 mostly collects dust. The 31A program in the SR-16 is my "go to" for a big majority of country soungs in my recording studio, including ones with a 4/4 shuffle beat.
I've got a 3/4 programmed into the SR-16 that I use. The SR-18 does have a factory 3/4. The "country" programs in the SR-18 are more modern country types.

Thanks Jack,
I scratch built a 3/4 years ago using the tap feature. It came out pretty good. I'll probably just stick with the sr-16 for now. I copied some of the preprogrammed patterns into "user" to make it possible to edit them to please myself. I'm just getting started with that phase. It took me weeks to build my own drum kit. There are a lot of parameters to work with in tuning the heads, volume, panning. I'm using all 4 outputs to seperate channels on a mixing board, which details it out further. Fun, but time consuming.
