I saw John play with Vince in Glasgow and had the honour of meeting him and seeing him play twice at Dallas, as someone said earlier in this thread his playing moves me like no other player I have heard. When meeting him I found him to be a real gentleman, although a stranger to him,I was made to feel like a long lost friend and nothing was too much trouble to him as he answered my questions.Sadly missed.

The Very Best
I dreamed of meeting John Hughey and one day, while in Nashville, I went in to the Station Inn. I was told that they were not open yet, but that my wife & I could go in.
I told Joe Spivey that I had come Thousands of miles to see John.
Joe took me over to John. Although he was tuning and setting up. He stopped, signed my hat and let me have a picture taken with him.
I got to sit right next to where John was playing and as he hit those wonderful licks, he seemed to look at me and grin at the same time I looked at him, amazed at what he played.
Rest In Peace John, knowing that you have inspired thousands of folks.
